The Skyrim Giant's Pets - Part 5

The giant returned from pulling out arrows from the mammoth that had been attacked, and reached into the cage for his newest pet. As he held it up and stared at it, it did an extraordinary thing. With a noise louder than such a little creature should be able to produce, it shouted "Fus!" An impact hit Grugg's eye and made it water.

Clearly this pet, like the other, would have to be taught to behave. He turned it over, picked a green switch and began lashing its hindquarters.

One looked on with growing sympathy. Grugg was holding Two facing away from her, so she could see the red stripes appearing.

Then a lash of the sapling came down at an odd angle, its tip striking right between Two's legs. For the first time he yelled in pain. It suddenly struck One how much more vulnerable he was than she. Her first thought had been that he and the giant were in some kind of male conspiracy, wanting her body with the excuse of 'breeding'. She felt guilty about this now, as Two was placed back in the cage groaning.

The switch had struck right between his legs. Pet Two lay on the floor, for a while inhabiting a universe that contained nothing but his agony. One dropped her protecting hands from their position of impromptu modesty, reached forward, and put her hand on his shoulder....

The two pets talked for hours. Two described the strange shout he had acquired after the dragon at the western tower fell. One told him how she was taking a message to Markarth for Jarl Balgruuf and had tried to avoid the extra mileage of skirting around the giant's camp, by sneaking through. "I'm usually good at not being seen" she said, "but the giant grabbed me and stripped me, just like you. He..." She hesitated in embarrassment. "He molests me, every day, touching me in the worst way."

"You know, I don't think he understands what he's doing" said the Dragonborn. "You're just a toy to him, not a person. I doubt he's even seen another giant for years."
